The Vans RV-7 is a two person side-by-side seating light aircraft. The RV-7 is one of a range of kit aircraft designs by Van's Aircraft of Aurora, Oregon, U.S.A. (www.vansaircraft.com).

Other designs in the RV range flying today are the RV-3, RV-4, RV-6, RV-8, RV-9 and RV-10. In the U.S.A. these kit aircraft operate under the 'Experimental Aircraft' category. In the U.K. they operate under the 'Permit To Fly' regulations supervised by the Popular Flying Association (www.pfa.org.uk) and the CAA.

RV-7's are typically powered by Lycoming or Lycoming-clone engines of the 160-200HP range and can accommodate fixed-pitch or constant speed propellers. The canopy can be installed as a 'Slider' or as a 'Tip-Up'. Instrumentation can be basic or sophisticated according to the desires and depth of pocket of the builder.

A description plus specification and performance data for the RV-7 are to be found here in the Vans website.
